- There are 435 members in the House of Representatives, which based on population. For example, California has 53 members and Montana only has one.
 
-Each member of the House is elected to serve a two year term.

-In order to be elected into the House, you must consider the requirements. According to the U.S. Constitution, a member of the House must be at least 25 years old, been a citizen for seven years, and is a resident of the district in which they are running for.

-Members of the House have rules about discussing a Bill, for example there is a limited amount of time when discussing a bill.


Leaders of the House

-The leader of the House is held by the Speaker of the House, John Boehner. This person is always a member of the majority party and is voted into this position by party members. The Speaker of the House is often considered the second most important person in the U.S.!

-The Majority and Minority leaders hold spokeperson positions for their parties and to guide bills through Congress.

 -The Majority and Minority Whip hold positions in order to ensure that party members vote the way that their party wants.
